The Famous "Black Rock" in Lahaina

At the very western most part of the Hawaiian island of Maui sits a formation of Lava that juts out into the dark blue and turquoise south pacific sea. 

This black lava formation is known as 'Black Rock' and sits in the middle of South and North Ka'anapali Beach - one of the world's greatest beaches- three miles long... 

Historically and culturally significant, it also is a stunning stop for anyone visiting Maui.  One of the favorite snorkeling locations on the island, protected much of the day from wind and surf, home to many colorful reef fish, turtles, eels and octopus.  Whales come right by during the season and you will hear them when your head is underwater.
