"Jaws" Surf, Maui

This giant surf off the north shore of Maui known as "Peahi" by the Hawaiians, is often referred to as "Jaws" for its fierce break and stunning wave faces. 

Jaws, Maui is one of the largest wave breaks in the world hitting heights of over 50 feet! It 'fires off' only once in every 4 years or so, and its 50 foot faces were just gorgeous on December 8, 2009.

Mark and I rented a Cessna plane and called our pilot friend to capture the excitement from the air! Join us on this magnificent journey about these mountains of water.
