Aloha, we are Mark and Shayla

Thank you for checking us out!  We are a husband and wife team that have been shooting photographs and frankly friendly competing with each other trying to capture the most insanely beautiful, creative and inspired images for over two decades.  It all started on the lanai of Maui Kai 301 which sits 30' off the ocean about 30' above the beach. Limited to this 18x8' shooting platform we competed night after night trying to see who could get the most compelling image, what fun!  It elevated our game to a whole new level of creativity. Timing waves, using passing boats, neighboring palm trees, kite surfers, whales, birds and waiting for the sun to hit the perfect location, zooming in for different feels, slowing the shutter to emphasize motion, experimenting with angles and props and a whole lot more.

Shayla was raised in a photography family and being the youngest of seven, she had a darkroom in the house before she could walk.  Inspired by her father and two older brothers and their love for capturing images and creating masterpieces, she was always interested in exploring the world and finding new, creative ways that were unique to her.
